Located at the Boston campus of the University of Massachusetts, the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum (Columbia Point, Dorchester, 617-514-1600, open daily 9 AM-5 PM) ( Map ) is the official library of the charismatic 35th US president. Overlooking Dorchester Bay and the ocean that that he loved,  the I.M. Pei designed glass and concrete building is starkly beautiful. During the warm weather months, visitors can see the President’s beloved sailboat, Victora , displayed out front. The introductory film -a memoir of Kennedy’s early life- is narrated by Kennedy himself. However, the emphasis of the museum is mid-20th century politics and

JFK’s presidency. There is a replica of Kennedy’s Oval office and  another of the Kennedy -Nixon debate TV set. Other exhibits chronicle the events that defined the Kennedy presidency including space exploration, the Cuban Missile crisis, and the Civil Rights Movement.Fans of Jacqueline Kennedy will find much to admire as well including a display of her work in restoring the interior of the White House.
